Our Mission
You may notice these paw prints are heavily featuredon our website and business cards. These prints belong to a dog that will forever be special to us. Houston was a two-and-a-half year old pitbull who, after being raised by the same family his whole life, was abruptly discarded because they felt he played too rough. He bounced from person to person until after just five days, he ended up at a shelter where Bill was volunteering at the time. Houston was extremely scared, and displaying defensive and barrier aggression. Despite Houston forming a strong bond with Bill, and making great progress with other volunteers, his fear and distrust was ultimately too much for him to overcome, and he injured someone in a way that deemed him to be unsafe to place. After one last fun day, Houston was behaviorally euthanized on May 29th, 2025, with Bill and one of his other favorite people by his side.
Our mission is simple; No more Houstons. To that end, we will do everything in our power to help you keep your beloved dog, feel safe with them, and help them to feel safe in what can often be an overwhelming world. We will be a force multiplier for shelters and rescues, assisting you to accomplish your mission, whether it be through canine behavior consultations and evaluations, animal welfare consultations, operational efficiency, over-all safety, developing or providing volunteer and staff training, or a variety of other organizational objectives. Our goal is to assist you in providing a safer environment with better trained personnel, and happier, healthier animals with shorter stays and better adoption outcomes. We pride ourselves not just on serving the people and dogs who are running out of options, but serving those who do the same.
